Flights and travel to Nunavik.

Air Inuit connects Nunavik

Nunavik has no road network connecting its 14 communities to one another or to southern Québec. Air Inuit operates scheduled services throughout the region, including southern connections. Check the route and stops for your specific destination; every itinerary is not a direct flight.

Travel within a community is a separate arrangement. Confirm an airport pickup and your everyday transport with your employer or host.

Kuujjuaq, Ottawa & Iqaluit

Canadian North announced a weekly Saturday Kuujjuaq–Iqaluit service, effective August 9, 2025, with a Kuujjuaq stop on its Saturday Ottawa–Iqaluit routing. This provides an Ottawa connection through Kuujjuaq.

Check your travel date: this is the airline’s published service announcement, not a guarantee of today’s timetable. Confirm the direction, day, connections and availability in the current schedule before booking.

Pack for a delayed connection

Keep essential medication, documents, chargers and a change of clothes in your carry-on, within airline rules. Have suitable outdoor clothing accessible on arrival. Leave room in your plans for weather disruptions, and confirm who to contact if your arrival changes.

Your employer will commonly arrange or cover your flight north and relocation cargo. Confirm its booking and shipping instructions before making purchases, then check the operating airline’s baggage rules. See employment benefits and allowances →

Moving your household

Relocation cargo is commonly included when an organization recruits you to Nunavik. Ask HR about approved shipping, weight or volume limits, and which household items are already provided. Compare air cargo with seasonal sealift for larger shipments; check the carrier’s delivery window, deadlines, packaging and local collection arrangements before ordering.

Arrange accommodation for the first night even if you expect to go straight into staff housing. Keep your local contact’s phone number available offline.
