WHAT TO BUY & BRING

Pack for daily life in the North.

Start with clothing you can layer. Ask your employer what work gear is supplied and what people in your destination actually use.

Fit and layers matter.

Choose clothing for your activities and exposure, not just a temperature label. Leave space to move, keep layers dry and adjust them to avoid sweating. For outdoor work, confirm the employer’s required protective equipment.

Before buying bulky items

Ask which bedding, cookware, furniture and appliances are included in your accommodation. Relocation cargo is commonly covered by recruiting employers; confirm your allowance and approved shipping process with HR. Check local store stock and delivery options for specialist sizes, dietary products and baby supplies. Buy essential arrival clothing before flying, and arrange large shipments only after confirming housing and freight costs.
